CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – THURSDAY 5th NOVEMBER 2020

COVID-19 Restrictions on NOA Reserves Further to the announcement of a second lockdown in order to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus, the NOA must once again close all hides on its nature reserves from 5th November. While we would discourage anyone from travelling too far during this crucial time, our reserves themselves will remain open for local visitors and usual charges will apply for non-members. Please follow government advice, and respect social distancing at all times. We will restore access to our facilities as and when government restrictions permit. We are very grateful for your understanding and support.

Wednesday 16th September 2015

An Osprey was again seen in Thornham Harbour, and a major movement of wildfowl included 350 Teal, 70 Gadwall, 23 Pochard, and 10+ Brent Geese. On the sea 3 Fulmars, 152 Gannets, 2 Great Crested Grebes, and 33 Sandwich Terns were recorded. A Common Sandpiper and a Greenshank were passing over, together with 4 Spoonbills. 80 Swallows and 30 House Martins also moved through during the day, and 3 Cetti's Warblers were in the recording area. A Lesser Whitethroat and a Reed Warbler were caught during the days ringing.
