Monday 9th May 2016

Another lovely sunny day but with a strong east north east wind, the main highlights today were a singing Grasshopper Warbler near the car parks, and a Garden Warbler singing near the Richardson Hide. A Cuckoo was calling.

Butterflies included 4 Brown Argus, 6 Small Coppers and 3 Green Hairstreaks. In the moth trap a Red-green Carpet, a female Emperor Moth, a White Ermine, Flame Shoulder, and an early Diamond-back were among the species of note.
