A northerly blast this morning produced some great seawatching with 34 Teal, 100 Common Scoters, a Red-breasted Merganser, 15 Red-throated Divers, 7 Sooty Shearwaters, 30 Manx Shearwaters, 439 Gannets, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 5 Pom Skuas, 35 Arctic Skuas, 88 Great Skuas, 17 Razorbills, a Guillemot, 27 Sandwich Terns, 2 probable Long-tailed Skuas and a juvenile Sabine's Gull, a Little Gull and 14 Kittiwakes. The two Richard's Pipits remained in the area south of the Broadwater opposite the Observatory, but remained elusive, calling and lifting off the marsh on just a couple of occasions. Also of note were a Green Sandpiper, a Snipe, 2 Blackcaps, 3 Stonechats, 1 Wheatear, 2 Rock Pipits, 2 Siskins over calling, and at least 2 Bramblings in the pines.
