Further to the lifting of restrictions on Monday 12th April 2021 the NOA reserves and car parks remain open to visitors but hides remain closed. We are hoping to be able to open hides to visitors on Monday 17th May 2021 in line with expected changes to government restrictions, and will post further updates on this page prior to the changes commencing.
We continue to thank all our members and visitors for their patience, and for continuing to keep our staff and visitors safe.

Thursday 6th October 2016

A busy day with thrushes, Robins and Goldcrests on the move. Highlights included 2 Rock Pipits trapped and ringed, a Hawfinch over calling, a Short-eared Owl in off the sea, a Woodcock through the pines, at least one Yellow-browed Warbler calling in the pines, 2 Wheatears along the sea wall at Thornham, where there was also a report of a Richard's Pipit over in the morning, a Pied Flycatcher was at the NWT reserve, 2 Grey Wagtails flew over calling, and 3 Bramblings and 2 Siskins were also of note. Seawatching produced 31 Gannets, a Sandwich Tern, 2 Arctic Skuas, 7 Razorbills and 2 Guillemots.

Highlights from Walsey Hills included a Great Grey Shrike on the reserve in the afternoon before moving off east over the hide, two Ring Ouzels in the scrub in the morning and a Yellow-browed Warbler still present but elusive in the willows.
