Thursday 6th April 2017

A beautiful spring day with light winds, on the seawatch 7 Eiders, 50 Common Scoters, a Red-breasted Merganser, female Goosander, single Fulmar, and 2 Great Crested Grebes were of interest. Other sightings included 6 Buzzards, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 10 Chiffchaffs, 2 Sedge Warblers, and a single Brambling.

Insects were increasingly visible with 2 Speckled Woods, 2 Brimstones, 2 Small Tortoiseshells, a Small White and a Peacock on the wing, while in the moth traps an Early Thorn, Pine Beauty, Northern Drab and two Hebrew Characters were caught.
