Wednesday 17th October 2018

Highlights today were 4 Pintail west, 60 Common Scoters, 5 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Red-throated Divers, 6 Gannets, 14 Great Crested Grebes and a Great Skua offshore. A ring-tail Hen Harrier was seen and a Green Sandpiper was a late record, with Tawny, Barn and Short-eared Owls all recorded and a Kingfisher also of note. A Peregrine was of interest and 6 Shorelark were again on the beach. Also of interest were a single Swallow, 2 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, single Fieldfare, 10 Song Thrushes, 30 Redwings, 3 Mistle Thrushes, 20 Robins, 2 Stonechats, 60 Meadow Pipits, 4 Rock Pipits, a Water Pipit, 2 Bramblings and 10 Siskins.
