CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – THURSDAY 5th NOVEMBER 2020

COVID-19 Restrictions on NOA Reserves Further to the announcement of a second lockdown in order to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus, the NOA must once again close all hides on its nature reserves from 5th November. While we would discourage anyone from travelling too far during this crucial time, our reserves themselves will remain open for local visitors and usual charges will apply for non-members. Please follow government advice, and respect social distancing at all times. We will restore access to our facilities as and when government restrictions permit. We are very grateful for your understanding and support.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 23rd November 2019

The Glossy Ibis was showing throughout the day at Thornham Harbour together with a group of Greylag Geese containing a single White-fronted Goose. A Red-breasted Merganser was in Thornham Channel and late afternoon a Slavonian Grebe was close inshore drifting east. Two Bearded Tits were in the reeds near Broadwater and a Cetti's Warbler was on the corner of Thornham Bank, while 4 Stonechats were also of note and a Rock Pipit flew over calling.
