Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 4th January 2020

The first winter Waxwing was seen again during the morning near the Richardson Hide eating rosehips, but moved further west to the toilet block at the end of Beach Road in the afternoon. Three Water Rails were heard from the Broadwater and on the sea 4 Red-throated Divers, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 4 Fulmars and a Great Crested Grebe were on the sea. At Thornham Harbour 2 Barn Owls, 2 Rock Pipits and 10 Twite were logged.
