CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – THURSDAY 5th NOVEMBER 2020

COVID-19 Restrictions on NOA Reserves Further to the announcement of a second lockdown in order to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus, the NOA must once again close all hides on its nature reserves from 5th November. While we would discourage anyone from travelling too far during this crucial time, our reserves themselves will remain open for local visitors and usual charges will apply for non-members. Please follow government advice, and respect social distancing at all times. We will restore access to our facilities as and when government restrictions permit. We are very grateful for your understanding and support.

Holme Bird Observatory Wednesday 11th November 2020

A Spoonbill feeding in the harbour channel at Thornham this morning was a surprise find and at least one Bearded Tit was present calling in the reeds alongside Thornham Bank. A young Peregrine spent most of the day upsetting the wildfowl on the grazing marsh and was seen to snatch and fly of with a Starling at one point.
